Nature Mentorship develops skills in both nature connection and leadership. Mentors will learn to guide younger students to connect with the natural world through the rhythms of plants, birds, insects, trees, animals, seasons, and weather. As mentors engage with students, they will develop leadership and communication skills- learning and teaching alongside the Lead Guide. During the Art of Nature Mentor Training, mentors will learn from one another and develop a community of leaders in nature connection and sustainability practices. Mentors will have the opportunity to develop their personal nature connection by practicing skills in wilderness survival, plant/tree identification, animal tracking, foraging, and shelter and fire-building.
