Local author, Kate Snow, is offering a FREE seminar at the HSB Bookstore on Monday, August 4! Join us as Kate breaks down the 'Math with Confidence' program (focused on K - 5th grade).

Topics to be covered:

1. Top 10 tips for teaching elementary math, no matter what curriculum you use!
2. The 3 goals of 'Math with Confidence': Conceptual understanding, proficiency with fundamental skills, and a positive attitude towards math.
3. Lesson format for each grade level.
4. The nuts and bolts of 'Math with Confidence', including manipulatives, blackline masters, checkpoints, and how the math facts are incorporated.

Schedule:
6pm to 7pm: Seminar
7pm to 8pm: Special 'Meet the Author' Time

Kate Snow is a math educator on a mission to help parents raise kids who are capable and confident in math. With experience as a homeschool parent, classroom teacher, and curriculum writer, she holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Harvard University and an M.S. in Elementary Education from Walden University. Kate is the author of 'Preschool Math at Home: Simple Activities to Build the Best Possible Foundation for Your Child', the 'Math Facts That Stick' series, and the 'Math with Confidence' series.
